[Dòmhnall Angaidh Moireasdan - Preseantair] Bidh òigridh aig teis-mheadhan Fèis Bhlas am-bliadhna, leis gu bheil an Fhèis a’ comharrachadh deich bliadhna bho thòisich i anns an t-Sultain, tha a’ bhuidheann a tha ga cur air adhart airson tilleadh gu freumhaichean na Fèise. Chaidh an clàr-ama airson na Fèise fhoillseachadh an-diugh le iomadh tachartas ceòlmhor air fàire agus gu leòr iomain cuideachd. Tha Dòmhnall MacLaomainn ag aithris.

[Dòmhnall MacLaomain – Neach-aithris] Chaidh Fèis Bhlas a stèidheachadh bho chionn deich bliadhna mar thoireadh air turas buidheann bho Comhairle na Gàidhealtachd gu Fèis Celtic Colours ann an Canada. Bhon uair sin tha an fhèis air fàs gu mòr le barrachd na ceithir cheud tachartas bhon uair sin.

[Art MacCarmaig] Uill tha diofar rudan a’ dol air adhart ach gu sònraichte am-bliadhna tha sinn a' dèanamh fòcas air òigridh a-rithist agus tha sinn a’ cur nan crìochan air dòigh le na Fèisean agus an òigridh a tha an sàs anns na Fèisean bho thall 's a bhos air feadh Alba agus bha sinn ag iarraidh sin a dhèanamh anns an deicheamh bliadhna airson comharrachadh gu bheil an òigridh air a bhith air leth cudromach dhan fhèis on a thòisich i.

[Dòmhnall MacLaomain – Neach-aithris] A bharrachd air ceòl, bidh cuideachd prìomhachas air a thoirt do dh’iomain, is sreath de thachartasan air feadh na Gàidhealtachd ag innse mun bhuaidh a bh’ aig a’ Chiad Cogadh air spòrs nan Gàidheal agus an ceangal a th’aig a’ phìobairesa le cupa ainmeil.

[Ùisdean MacIllinnein] Tha tòrr dheth stèidhichte air a’ chupa seo – Cupa Ic Ille Bhrath - agus cuideachd an teaghlach aig Donnchadh Mac Ille Bhrath, am pìobaire, chionn tha ceangal àraidh eadar iad fhèin agus an cupa seo agus bidh sinn a’ mìneachadh na h-eachdraidh sin a bharrachd air a bhith comharrachadh a’ Chiad Chogaidh agus cuideachd mar a thug na Gàidheil camanachd thall -thairis.

[Dòmhnall MacLaomain – Neach-aithris] ‘S e dùbhlan a th’ann gach bliadhna maoineachadh fèis den t-seòrsa seo, ach tha soirbheachas Blas gu ruige seo a’ toirt misneachd dhaibh gu bhith dol fhathast ann an deich bliadhna eile. The young are at the heart of the Blas festival this year

[Donald Morrison – Presenter] Young people will be at the very centre of Blas Festival this year, as the it celebrates its tenth year since it started in September, the group who organise it want the festival to return to its roots. The festival programme was published today, with many musical events taking place, and plenty of shinty too. Donald Lamont reports.

[Donald Lamont – Reporter] Blas Festival was set up ten years ago as a result of a group from the Highland Council visiting the Celtic Colours festival in Canada. From then the festival has increased greatly with over four hundred events having taken place since then.

[Arthur Cormack] Well there are different things taking place but especially this year we’re focusing on young people again and we’re finalising things with the Fèisean and the young people involved with the Fèisean from all over Scotland, and we wanted to do this in its tenth year to mark how important young people’s have been the festival since it started.

[Donald Lamont – Reporter] In addition to music, there will also be a focus on shinty, with a series of events taking place across the Highlands, conveying the effects of the First World War on Highland sport and what ties this piper has to a famous cup.

[Hugh Dan MacLennan] A lot of it is based on this cup – the MacGillivray Cup – and also Duncan MacGillivray’s family, the piper, as they have a particular tie with it, and we will be explaining that history as well as marking the First World War and how the Gaels took shinty overseas.

[Donald Lamont – Reporter] Funding this type of festival each year is a challenge, but the success of Blas until now gives them encouragement to continue for another ten years. Donald Lamont, BBC An Là, Inverness.
