Iomall a' Mhòid Nàiseanta Rìoghail as motha riamh

[Innes Rothach – Preseantair] Chaidh fhoillseachadh gum bi Iomall a’ Mhòid Nàiseanta Rìoghail nas motha am-bliadhna na bha iomall a’ Mhòid riamh. Bidh còrr is trì fichead ‘s a deich tachartas ann, a’ tòiseachadh le caismeachd Lòchrain tro mheadhan Inbhir Nis an oidhche a dh'fhosglas am Mòd. Tha An Comunn Gàidhealach ag ràdh gum bi an iomall am-bliadhna na phàirt tòrr nas cudromaiche dhen Fhèis. Tha Dòmhnall Moireasdan ag aithris.

[Dòmhnall Moireasdan – Neach-aithris] ‘S ann an taigh-cluiche Eden Court a bhios co-fharpaisean mhòra a’ Mhòid. Ach, b’ ann an sin cuideachd a dh’fhoillsich An Comunn do luchd-naidheachd, an iomall as motha riamh ann an eachdraidh a’ Mhòid. Bidh e dathte ‘s bidh e spòrsail.

[Dòmhnall Moireasdan – Neach-aithris] ‘S fhada bhon a bha fhios aig a h-uile duine gun robh rud a bha dol taobh a-muigh nam farpaisean aig a’ Mhòd a cheart cho cudromach, ann an dòigh, ri na tha dol aig na farpaisean fhèin agus tha am Mòd am-bliadhna airson dèanamh cinnteach gu bheil fhios aig a h-uile duine, nach ann a-mhàin airson farpaisean a tha iad dol a thighinn a dh’Inbhir Nis ach airson cuirm tòrr, tòrr nas fharsainge ‘s nas inntinniche cuideachd.

[Dòmhnall Moireasdan – Neach-aithris] Tha iad air taic airgid fhaighinn bho Bhliadhna an Tilleadh Dhachaigh 2014 airson barrachd a dhèanamh am-bliadhna.

[Iain Moireasdan] Anns na bliadhnaichean a chaidh seachad bha an iomall a’ tachairt ma bha airgead gu leòr ann, ma bha ionmhas gu leòr aig a’ chomataidh ionadail airson iomall a dhèanamh, ach am-bliadhna fhuair sinn maoineachadh air leth airson iomall phroifeiseanta a chur air dòigh agus air sgàth sin, seo an iomall as motha a th’ air a bhith aig Mòd Nàiseanta a-riamh.

[Dòmhnall Moireasdan – Neach-aithris] Mar as àbhaist bidh seinneadairean ‘s luchd-ciùil air feadh nan taighean-seinnse ‘s nan taighean-òsta. Bidh cuirmean mòra ann, bho leithid Skippinish agus Skerryvore. Bidh blasad ann air litreachas ‘s air iomain agus tachartasan òigridh. Farsaingeachd do shean agus òg.

[Dòmhnall Moireasdan – Neach-aithris] Bidh cuimhneachain ann air òigridh thiamhaidh an linn a dh’fhalbh cuideachd, cuirm a’ cuimhneachadh a’ Chiad Chogaidh ann an talla a’ bhaile.

[Ailein Caimbeul] Tha mi smaoineachadh gu robh e iomchaidh gum biodh a leithid sin ann air a’ bhliadhna seo far a bheil sinn a’ comharrachadh ceud bliadhna bhon a thòisich a’ Chiad Chogadh agus tha mi smaoineachadh gum faodadh tu ràdh gur e iomall na bliadhna seo, gu bheil i dol nas fhaisge air a bhith na pàirt dhen Mhòd Oifigeil na bha i riamh roimhe.

[Dòmhnall Moireasdan – Neach-aithris] Thèid fàilte chridheil a chur air luchd-turais le cleasan sràide, ‘s bidh luchd-ciùil ann an ionadan turasachd mar Caisteal Urchardain agus Cùil Lodair. Dòmhnall Moireasdan, BBC An Là.

The biggest Mod fringe festival ever

[Innes Munro – Presenter] It was revealed that this year’s Royal National Mod fringe will be the biggest yet. There will be more than 70 events, starting with the Lòchran parade through Inverness city centre on the opening night. An Comunn Gàidhealach say this year’s fringe will play a more important part in the festival. Donald Morrison reports.

[Donald Morrison – Reporter] The Mod’s main competitions will be held in Eden Court Theatre. It was there that An Comunn revealed the largest fringe in the Mod’s history to the press. It’ll be colourful and fun.

[Donald Morrison – Reporter] It’s widely known that what takes place outside of Mòd competitions is equally as important as what’s happening at the competitions and the Mòd this year will ensure that everyone knows that they’re not just coming to Inverness for competitions but for a wide-ranging and interesting event too.

[Donald Morrison – Reporter] They have received funding from the Year of Homecoming 2014 to enable them to do more this year.

[Iain Morrison] In previous years the fringe would only take place if funds allowed, if the local committee could afford to stage a fringe, but this year we received excellent funding to organise a professional fringe event and a result, this is the largest fringe the Mod has ever seen.

[Donald Morrison – Reporter] As usual singers and musicians will perform in the pubs and hotels throughout. There will be concerts from the likes of Skipinnish and Skerryvore. There will be a sample of literature, shinty and youth events. A wide variety for old and young.

[Donald Morrison – Reporter] There will also be poignant remembrances of the young generation from the past century, an event remembering The First World War in the town hall.

[Allan Campbell] I think that it was fitting that such an event was held this year to commemorate one hundred years since the First World War began and I think you could say that this year’s fringe is going to be more closely related to the official Mod that it has been in the past.

[Donald Morrison – Reporter] A warm welcome awaits tourists with street performances and musicians performing in tourism hot spots such as Urquhart Castle and Culloden. Donald Morrison, BBC An Là.
