Sgeama Nan Treòraichean Òga

[Anne Lundon – Preseantair] Chaidh moladh a dhèanamh air sgoilearan a ghabh pàirt ann an sgeama Alba Aosmhor nan Treòraichean Òga. Bidh e toirt cothrom do sgoilearan bun-sgoile a bhith nan luchd-treòrachaidh airson eachdraidh na h-Alba a thaisbeanadh aig Caisteal Dhùn Èideann. Aig cuirm cheumnachaidh a-raoir rinn sgoilearan na bliadhna-sa taisbeanadh air an cuid sgilean. Tha an aithris seo aig Kerr Gibb.

[Kerr Gibb – Neach-aithris] Sgoilearan Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce ann an Dùn Èideann, ‘s iad a’ taisbeanadh an cuid sgilean dràma do phàrantan. Tha iad air eachdraidh beatha Mairi Bànrigh na h-Alba a theagaisg aig Caisteal Dhùn Èideann do sgoilearan bho air feadh Alba a bha tadhal air a’ phrìomh bhaile airson seachdain na Gàidhlig.

[Balach 1] Rinn sinn e aig a’ chaisteal airson sgoilearan a thàinig bho air feadh Alba.

[Balach 2] Bha sinn ag ionnsachadh agus bha na daoine eile ag èisteachd ruinn ag ionnsachadh cuideachd.

[Kerr Gibb – Neach-aithris] Os cionn an sgeama tha Alba Aosmhor.

[Curstaidh NicDhòmhnaill] Tha an sgeama Treòraichean Òga air a bhith dol againn bho chionn bliadhnaichean a-nis. A h-uile bliadhna bidh sinn ag obair an chuid le Sgoil Stenhouse ann an Dùn Èideann a tha a’ dèanamh Treòraichean mar luchd-ionnsachaidh agus Sgoil Taobh na Pàirce a tha a’ dèanamh Treòraichean mar, tha iadsan fileanta agus a h-uile bliadhna tha iad a’ toirt seachad mar gum biodh iùil do luchd-tadhail dhan chaisteal, gu Caisteal Dhùn Èideann.

[Kerr Gibb – Neach-aithris] Agus, a rèir ceannard na sgoile, tha e còrdadh ris a’ chloinn gu mòr, a bharrachd air na buannachdan farsaing a tha na lùib.

[Anna NicPhàil] Chòrd e riutha gu mòr. Tha iad air a bhith ag obair còmhla ri Anne Paterson airson mìosan a-nis, ag ionnsachadh nam faclan agus a’ deasachadh shuas aig a’ chaisteal fhèin. Tha e leasachadh nan sgilean labhairt aca, nan sgilean Gàidhlig aca, feumaidh blas fìor mhath a bhith aca airson obair mar seo agus bidh Anne a’ dèanamh cinnteach gu bheil a h-uile facal aca cho soilleir ‘s a ghabhas, bithidh. Cuideachd, tha iad ag obair ann an sgiobaidhean agus a-rithist tha sin a’ toirt air adhart sgilean sòisealta.

[Kerr Gibb – Neach-aithris] Bha teisteanas do gach sgoilear, mar chomharra gu bheil iad air pàirt a ghabhail anns an sgeama shònraichte seo agus air eachdraidh na h-Alba a lìbhrigeadh ann an dòigh fìor tharraingeach. Kerr Gibb, BBC An Là, Dùn Èideann.

Junior Tour Guides scheme

[Anne Lundon – Presenter] School pupils who took part in Historic Scotland’s Junior Tour Guides scheme have been praised. It gives pupils the opportunity to be tour guides, presenting Scottish history at Edinburgh Castle. At a graduation ceremony last night this year’s pupils showcased their skills. Kerr Gibb has this report.

[Kerr Gibb – Reporter] Pupils of Parkside Primary School in Edinburgh showcasing their drama skills to parents. They have been teaching the history of the life of Mary Queen of Scots at Edinburgh Castle to pupils from all over Scotland who were visiting the capital for Gaelic week.

[Boy 1] We did it at the castle for pupils who came from all over Scotland.

[Boy 2] Whilst we were learning the other people listening to us were learning too.

[Kerr Gibb – Reporter] Running the scheme is Historic Scotland.

[Kirsty MacDonald] The Junior Tour Guides scheme has been going for years now. Each year we work with both Stenhouse School in Edinburgh who take part in the scheme as learners and Parkside Primary School who do it as, well they are fluent and each year give sort of, guidance to visitors to the castle, to Edinburgh Castle.

[Kerr Gibb – Reporter] And, according to the school’s head teacher, as well the many rewards it they gain from it the children enjoy it greatly.

[Anne MacPhail] They really enjoyed it. They have been working with Anne Paterson for month now, learning the words and rehearsing up at the castle itself. It develops their speaking skills, their Gaelic skills, they need to have good pronunciation for work like this and Anne makes sure every word is as clear as possible, she does. Also, they are working in teams and this develops their social skills.

[Kerr Gibb – Reporter] Each pupil got a certificate, to mark that they have taken part in this special scheme and portrayed Scottish history in a very appealing way. Kerr Gibb, BBC An Là, Edinburgh.
