Co-labhairt TEDx an Inbhir Nis

[Innes Rothach – Preseantair] Chaidh co-labhairt TEDx a chumail ann an Inbhir Nis a-raoir. Tha na co-labhairtean, a tha dèiligeadh ri teicneòlas, cur-seachadan agus dealbhachd air a bhith ruith grunn bhliadhnaichean, ‘s iad a tàladh òraidichean mar Steven Hawking, Bono agus JK Rowling. Tha tuilleadh aig Alasdair MacIllinnein.

[Alasdair MacIllinnein – Neach-aithris] Am measg nan tractaran agus eile aig tuathanas a’ Bhothaig Bhàin a-raoir, bha co-labhairt shònraichte a’ tachairt. Tha co-labhairtean Ted no Technology Entertainment Design a’ tachairt air feadh an t-saoghail. Tha iad a’ gabhail a-steach cuspairean bho theicneòlas gu cànan, a bharrachd air a bhith a’ tarraing ainmean mòra gu bhith bruidhinn aca. Tha Tedx caran eadar-dhealaichte ge-tà. Tha e air a chur air dòigh gu neo-eisimeileach. Ach, coltach ri Ted fhèin, chan eil òraidean a’ maireachdainn ach 18 mionaidean, no fiù ‘s nas lugha na sin. Bha an t-uabhas chuspairean aig a’ cho-labhairt a-raoir. Nam measg, òraid mu dheidhinn na Gàidhlig air an toirt seachad anns a’ Ghàidhlig.

[Iain Keir] Uill, an tiotal a thug mi air, ‘s e sin ‘Mar a tha, mar a bha agus mar a bhios’ le comharra-ceist aig an deireadh. Agus an rud a tha mi feuchainn ri dhèanamh, tha mi feuchainn ri beagan innse dhaibh mu dheidhinn eachdraidh na Gàidhlig, beagan mun adhartas a tha sinn air dèanamh anns an 40 bliadhna mu dheireadh ‘s an suidheachadh a th’ann an-diugh agus dh’ fhaodadh tachairt anns na bliadhnaichean ri tighinn ‘s e phàirt a dh’ fhaodadh iad fhèin cluich ma dh’ fhaodhte anns an àm sin.

[Alasdair MacIllinnein – Neach-aithris] ‘S e seo a’ cho-labhairt as fhaide tuath a th’air a bhith aig TEDx gu ruige seo agus tha planaichean aig an fheadhainn a chuir air dòigh an seo a dhol fiù ’s nas fhaide tuath na seo anns na beagan mhìosan a tha romhainn.

[Alasdair MacIllinnein – Neach-aithris] Tha dùil ri co-labhairt TEDx eile ann an Arcaibh a dh’ aithghearr agus dòchas ann gun tèid co-labhairt eile a chumail ann an Inbhir Nis an ath-bhliadhna. Mura d’ fhuair sibh an cothrom a bhith an làthair a-raoir ge-tà, na gabhaibh dragh. Oir, thèid criomagan bhon cho-labhairt a-raoir a chur air làrach-lìn TED ann an ùine nach bi ro fhada agus iad gu bhith air an sealltainn aig Fèis Bhelladrum an ath-sheachdain cuideachd. Alasdair MacIllinnein, BBC An Là, Inbhir Nis.

TEDx conference in Inverness

[Innes Munro – Presenter] A TEDx conference was held in Inverness last night. The conferences, which deal with technology, entertainment and design have been running for many years, and have attracted speakers such as Steven Hawking, Bono and JK Rowling. Alasdair Maclennan has more.

[Alasdair Maclennan – Reporter] Amongst the tractors and such like at Bogbain Farm last night, a special conference was happening. TED conferences – or Technology Entertainment Design – take place across the world. They contain subjects from technology to language and also attract big name speakers. TEDx is a little different though. It is set up independently. But, like TED itself, speeches only last 18 minutes, or less. There were many subjects covered at the conference last night. Amongst them, a speech about Gaelic given in Gaelic.

[Iain Keir] Well, the title I gave it was ‘As it is, as it was and how it will be’ with a question mark at the end. And what I am trying to do is, trying to tell them a little about the history of Gaelic, about the progress we have made in the last 40 years, what the situation is like today and what could happen in the years to come. And what part they themselves could play in that time.

[Alasdair Maclennan – Reporter] This is the furthest North a TEDx conference has been held up until now and those who set it up have plans to go even further North in the coming months.

[Alasdair Maclennan – Reporter] Another TEDx conference is expected to take place in Orkney soon and it is hoped too another conference will be held in Inverness next year. If you didn’t get a chance to be present last night though, don’t worry. Because, clips from last night’s conference will go on TED’s website shortly and they will be shown at Belladrum Festival next week too. Alasdair Maclennan, BBC An Là, Inverness.
