Taigh-sheinnse an Èirinn air cuibhlichean

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Dòmhnall Angaidh Moireasdan – Preseantair] A dh’ Èirinn leinn a-nis far a bheil buidheann de shaoir ann an Co. na Gaillimhe air taigh-sheinnse ùr a thogail, air a bheil cuibhlichean. Chaidh co-dhùnadh seann charabhan a thionndaidh na phub leis gun robh e fàilligeadh air an fhear leis an robh e a reic. Tha a’ bhuidheann a-nis air iarrtasan fhaighinn airson a leithid bho Shasainn, Ameireaga agus Astràilia. Tha Teàrlach Quinnell a’ toirt dhuinn na h-aithris seo bho TG4.

[Teàrlach Quinnell - Neach-aithris] Dh'fhaodhte gu bheil sibh a' smaoineachadh gur e taigh-còmhnaidh traidiseanta a tha seo. Bhiodh sibh ceàrr. 'S e carabhan a th' ann - 's dòcha gun robh sin follaiseach? Na bhroinn, tha taigh-seinnse. Taigh-seinnse air chuibhlichean.

[Teàrlach Quinnell - Neach-aithris] 'S e John Walsh, leis a bheil Clinical Cabinets, stèidhichte ann an Droichead a' Chláirín, Co. na Gaillimhe, a bh' air cùlaibh a' phròiseict. Cha deach aige air seann charabhan a bh’aige a reic. Mar sin, còmhla ri cuid de a cho-obraichean, cho-dhùin e taigh-seinnse traidiseanta a dhèanamh dheth.

[Cian] Bha sinn ag obair san t-seachdain air seo fad sia mìosan. Cha robh ann ach bogsa falamh an toiseach. Thug sinn a h-uile rud a-mach às a' charabhan. Chuir sinn stuth blàthachaidh air an taobh a-muigh, 's an uair sin peanta geal, mar a bh' air na seann thaighean. Thòisich sinn leis an ùrlar a-staigh, agus lorg sinn na dathan a bhiodh ann an taigh-seinnse traidiseanta."

[Teàrlach Quinnell - Neach-aithris] Tha mòran dhaoine air ùidh a nochdadh san taigh-sheinnse seo. Chaidh a chleachdadh mar-thà aig na h-uimhir de phàrtaidhean air feadh na h-Èireann. Tha ùidh aig daoine thall-thairis cuideachd, agus tha seo air a' chompanaidh fhàgail caran trang. Thèid fear dhiubh a chur a-null dha na Stàitean Aonaichte a dh'aithghearr, nuair a bhios e deiseil. Fhuair iad iarrtasan cuideachd à Sasainn, agus Astràilia. Tearlach Quinnell, BBC An Là.

A pub in Ireland on wheels

English Beurla

[Donald Angie Morrison – Presenter] To Ireland now where a group of joiners in County Galway have built a new pub, on wheels. A decision was made to convert an old caravan into a pub as the owner failed to sell it. The group have now received requests for the like from England, America and Australia. Teàrlach Quinnell has this report for us from TG4.

[Teàrlach Quinnell - Reporter] Perhaps you’re thinking this is a traditional dwelling house. You’d be wrong. It’s a caravan – maybe that was obvious? Inside it, a pub. A pub on wheels.

[Teàrlach Quinnell - Reporter] John Welsh, who owns Clinical Cabinets based in Clarinbridge, Co. Galway is behind this project. He wasn’t able to sell his old caravan. Therefore, along with some of his co-workers, he concluded to make it into a traditional pub.

[Cian] We worked on this two days a week for six months. It was just an empty box at the start. We removed everything from the caravan. We put insulation on the outside and then white paint, as was on the old houses. We began with the floor inside and we found the colours that traditional pubs had.

[Teàrlach Quinnell - Reporter] Many people have shown interest in this pub. It’s already been used at plenty parties all over Ireland. People abroad have taken an interest in it too and as a result the company is quite busy. One will be sent to the United States soon, when it’s finished. They have also received requests from England and Australia. Teàrlach Quinnell, BBC An Là.
