Urras Coimhearsnachd a’ Chaoil agus Loch Aillse

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Karen Elder] Nise, tha Urras Coimhearsnachd a’ Chaoil agus Loch Aillse a’ sireadh bheachdan mhuinntir an àite mu na rudan as motha bu mhiann leatha fhaicinn anns an sgìre. Tha an t-urras air ceisteachan a sgaoileadh agus tha iad airson ’s gun tèid an tilleadh thuca on a’ chiad latha thar fhichead den Mhàirt. Le tuilleadh, seo Alasdair MacLeòid.

[Alasdair MacLeòid] An dràst’ sa rithist, cha chreid mi nach eil daoine an seo san Eilean Sgiathanaich a’ sanntachadh beatha dhaoine thall ann an sgìre Loch Aillse, ann an sgìre a tha an ìre mhath cho brèagha sa tha an eilean. Tha loidhne rèile a’ ruith troimhpe agus cha leig e leas a bhith a’ siubhal cho fada airson faighinn chun nam bailtean is bùithtean mòra co-dhiù nuair a bhios e ceadaichte sin a dhèanamh.

Ach chan eil siud ri ràdh nach eil rudan a dhìth air an sgìre agus tha Urras Coimhearsnachd a’ Chaoil agus Loch Aillse air tòiseachadh air co-chomhairle le litir agus sreath de cheistean air an cur a-mach gu gach dachaigh anns an sgìre feuch dè na leasachaidhean agus atharraichean a bu chaoil le daoine fhaicinn.

[Magaidh Choineagan] ‘S e cnag na cùise gu bheil gu leòr a tha a dhìth air an sgìre a tha seo. Tha cion-obrach gu ìre ann, tha cion-dhachaighean, cion cothrom aig òigridh ’s aig teaghlaichean air taighean a cheannach mar a tha air feadh na Gàidhealtachd air fad ’s na h-eileanan. Chan eil e furasta dachaighean a dhèanamh. Aig gach ìre tha mi cinnteach, dhar beatha, tha dìth anns an sgìre. Mar nach urrainn dhuinn leasachadh a thoir air beathannan nan sgìrean againn fhèin, chan eil mòran luach ann am buidheanan dha leithid seo, chanainn.

[Donnchadh Fearghasdan] Tha sinn air leth toilichte leis an oidhirp a tha seo air cur ceistean air daoine, a’ dèanamh rannsachadh. ‘S e bun-bheachd air leth math a tha seo gu bheil sinn a’ bruidhinn air a’ Chaoil is Loch Aillse agus e follaiseach gu bheil tòrr iarrtasan aig muinntir na sgìre seo, fìor ùidh aca ann an leasachaidhean anns an sgìre seach Rathad an Drom. Tha sin air a bhith mu, tha duilgheadasan air a bhith an sin airson fichead bliadhna. Tha mise sgìth a’ sgrìobhadh litrichean, agus chan eil sinn a’ faighinn freagairtean mun cuairt air dè tha iad a’ dol a dhèanamh mun cuairt air an rathad, air leth cudromach a tha sin.

[Alasdair MacLeòid] A bheil eadar-dhealachadh eadar daoine a tha a’ fuireach a-muigh air an tuath agus daoine le goireasan timcheall orra, ann am bailtean leithid an Caoil?

[Peigi Wood] Chan eil fhios a’m dè na h-atharraichean mòr a dhèanadh tu. Tha trèan ann ’s tha bus ann. Tha drochaid ann. Chan eil fhios agamsa dè na h-atharraichean mòr’ eile, fhios agad, chan eil mise a’ dol a-mach à seo. Aon rud tha mi a’ smaoineachadh a bhiodh glè mhath anns a’ bhaile seo a th’ air dùnadh mar-thà, na fosgladh cuideigin e, bùth aodaich! Aodaich is brogan, chan eil àite den t-seòrsa an ceannaichidh tu càil.

[Alasdair MacLeòid] Eadar riadh droch rathaidean ’s dìth thaighean no brògan is aodach is motha air d’ aire, tha trì seachdainean eile agad do bheachdan fhèin a chur a-steach. Alasdair MacLeòid, BBC an Là.

Kyle and Lochalsh Community Trust

English Beurla

[Karen Elder] Now, Kyle and Lochalsh Community Trust is seeking the opinions of the people of the area about the things they would most like to see in the area. The trust has dispersed questionnaires and they want these to be returned to them by the 21st of March. With more, here’s Alasdair MacLeod.

[Alasdair MacLeod] Now and again, I believe that people here in the Isle of Skye X people’s lives over in the Lochalsh area, in an area that’s just as nice as the island. There’s a rail line running through it and it doesn’t need to travel far to get to the towns and big shops anyway when it is permitted to do that.

But that’s not to say that there aren’t things missing from the area and the Kyle and Lochalsh Community Trust has started consultations with putting out a letter and a series of questions to each home in the area to know what developments and changes the people would like to see.

[Maggie Cunningham] The heart of the matter is that there’s plenty that is needed in this area. There’s unemployment to an extent, there’s a lack of houses, a lack of opportunities for the youth and families to buy houses like there is all over the Highlands and all over the islands. It’s not easy to make houses. At each stage of life I believe, there’s a need in the area. If we can’t improve lives in our own area, there’s not much value in groups like this I’d say.

[Duncan Ferguson] We are very happy with this effort of questioning people, doing research. This is a very good concept that we’re speaking about Kyle and Lochalsh and it’s clear that there’s lots of demand amongst the people of the area, they are truly interested in development in the area rather than the Drum Road. That’s been, there’s been difficulties there for twenty years. I’m tired of writing letters and we’re not getting answers around what they are going to do around the road, that’s very important.

[Alasdair MacLeod] Is there a different between people who are living out in the north and the people with facilities around them, at the edge of towns like Kyle.

[Peggy Wood] I don’t know what big changes you’d do. There’s a train and there’s a bus. There’s a bridge. I don’t know what other big changes; you know I don’t go out of here. One thing I think would be very good in this town that has already closed, if someone would open it, a clothes shop! A shoes and clothes shop, there’s not a place like that where you’d buy anything.

[Alasdair MacLeod] Between a series of bad roads and lack of housing or shoes and clothes and that’s on your mind, there’s three more weeks to put your own opinions in. Alasdair MacLeod, BBC an Là.
