Saying where you come from

Do you speak Gaelic? (plural / polite)

Look out for the following pieces of vocabulary in this clip.

cò às a tha sibh fhèin? where are you from yourself?

ceud mìle fàilte a hundred thousand welcomes

a bheil Gàidhlig agaibh? do you have Gaelic?

Use agad if you are talking to a friend:

a bheil Gàidhlig agad? do you have Gaelic?

beagan a wee bit

To answer these questions beginning with a bheil…?, use:

tha yes (to answer questions beginning with “a bheil…?”)

chan eil no (to answer questions beginning with “a bheil…?”)
