I really love shoes though. It would be hard for me to throw any of them out. Boots (wellies), sandals, anything you would wear on your feet. I can hardly pass a shoe shop. I have to at least look at them.

Yes, the hundredth shoe, well, it's more of a big boot, but I can't throw it out into the rubbish. No, I can't. I was wearing these boots when I met my husband for the first time. You know, there's a story behind everything here, a story and memories.

That's the sandal I was wearing when the two of us went to Majorca for the second time. I wore the boots the first time! I think it was the boots that first caught his eye and not the legs that were in them!

There you have the ordinal numbers. Remember that there are slight differences when you have feminine nouns and masculine nouns. Bear in mind that numbers are similar to adjectives, or descriptive words like "old" and "red". That gives you
"the old red shoe" but
"the old red door".
In the same way,
"the seventeenth shoe", but
"the seventeenth door".
Although the numbers are adjectives, only one, two and first really cause aspiration in the noun. You will also hear things like
"the first shoe on twenty" or
"the first door on twenty".
Remember that we have more than one counting system in Gaelic, and that it's just another way of saying it.
