Diofair bheachdain air veaganism

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Ruairidh Alasdair] Carson ag iarraidh veganism a sgrùdadh ma-tà?

[Ruairidh Alasdair] Bidh vegans a’ seachnadh biadh agus stuthan eile a bhios a tighinn a bheathaichean. Is tha sin a’ ciallachadh nach bi iad a’ cleachdadh bainne, ìm, maise-ghnùis a tha air dheuchainn air beathaichean, iasg, feòil, agus iomadh rud eile.

[Ruairidh Alasdair] Mura tha thu a’ rannsachadh gu ceart, tha e a’ cur iongnadh uabhasach ort. Tha stuthanan rim faighinn airson a h-uile rud; aodaichean, biadh, stuthan glanaidh - fiù ’s liocair as aonais bidh-bainne. Ma tha thu nad vegan an-diugh, chan fheumadh tu do dhruim a thionndadh ris a h-uile càil idir.

[Ruairidh Alasdair] Chan eil ceist mu dheidhinn mung beans ’s salads a seo idir ge-tà. Mar neach a bhios ag ithe feòil, tha mise ag iarraidh faighinn a-mach dè dìreach a tha na veganism. Thiugainn is gheibh sinn a-mach.

[Ceitidh] Chan eil mise ag ithe feòil ann. Agus tha mi a’ smaoineachadh gur e veganism rud… tha e uabhasach math, fhios agad? Tha mi ag aontachadh gu bheil e math don do shlàinte is rudan mar sin ach chan eil mi a’ smaoineachadh gum biodh e buileach furasta dhomh fhìn, a bhith nam vegan.

[Shannon] Yeah, tha mise a’ smaoineachadh nach b’ urrain dhòmhsa ga dhèanamh idir.

[Zach] Tha mi a’ feuchainn na bhith nam vegan, tha mi nam droch vegan ann an dòigh. Air sgàth ’s nach eil mi really a’ feuchainn cho cruaidh agus air sgàth ’s gu bheil… tha gaol agam air càise is, dìreach, sin mar a tha cùisean.

[Jamie] Chan e vegan a th’ annam, co-dhiù.

[Alannah] Chan e vegan a th’ annamsa nas mò. Ach tha mi a’ smaoineachadh gur e rud math a th’ ann do dhaoine eile. Tha mise ’s dòcha ro leisg airson a bhith nam vegan.

[Shannon] Tha mi a’ tuigsinn a thaobh leathar rudan mar sin, ach dhòmhsa, sin a rud gu bheil math airson do shlàinte ann an dòigh, ach cuideachd tha agad ri rudan a bharrachd a thoirt, mar supplements, rudan mar sin airson seach, ’s ann an dòigh chan eil fhios agam dè cho math ’s a tha sin. Cuideachd, tha duine riamh air a bhith ag ithe feòil.

[Ceitidh] Fhios agad, chan e vegetarian a th’ annam ir sgàth ’s adhbharan moraltachd idir, gu mì-fhortanach, ach aig an aon àm, tha mi nam bheachd, dìreach rud beag nam cheann, ma bha còir aig daoine a bhith ag ithe feòil nach bhiodh e, eil fhios agad, anns an suidheachadh far an robh iad idir, dìreach rabaid ann an sin agus a bhith ga ith. Dìreach mar sin. Gun a bhith a’ còcaireachd no rud mar sin. ’S e sin…

[Shannon] ’S e sin a ’b àbhaist dhaibh a bhith a dhèanamh.

[Ceitidh] Ach a-nis? Chan urrainn dhuinn. Chan urrainn dhuinn.

[Ruairidh Alasdair] Why investigate veganism, anyway? Well I have been noticing in my city that more and more people are turning to the vegan lifestyle, as well as famous people, even my own friends. There are a greater number of vegan restaurants as well. But, is it truly easier to choose this lifestyle than it was ten years ago?

[Ruairidh Alasdair] Vegans avoid food and other things that come from animals. That means they don’t use milk, butter, cosmetics that have been tested on animal, fish, meat and lots of other things.

[Ruairidh Alasdair] If you don’t research correctly, you’ll be surprised. You get stuff for everything: clothes, food, cleaning products – even liquor ree from dairy products. If you’re a vegan today, you don’t have to turn your back to everything.

[Ruairidh Alasdair] It’s not all a question of mung beans and salads here either. As a person who eats meat, I want to find out what exactly is veganism. Let’s go and find out.

[Ceitidh] I don’t eat meat. And I think veganism is a… It’s really good, you know? I agree that it’s good for your health and things like that but I don’t think it would be very easy for myself, to be vegan.

[Shannon] Yeah, I don’t think that I could do it at all.

[Zach] I’m trying to be vegan, I’m a bad vegan in a way. Because I’m not really trying so hard and because… I love cheese and, just, that’s how it is.

[Jamie] I’m not vegan, anyway.

[Alannah] I’m not vegan either. But I think it’s a good thing for other people. I’m maybe too lazy to be vegan.

[Shannon] I understand about the leather and things like that, but to me, it’s a good thing for your health in a way, but also you have to take more things, like supplements, things like that to get by, in that way I don’t know how good that it. Also, people have always eaten meat.

[Ceitidh] I know, I’m not vegetarian for moral reasons at all, unfortunately, but at the same time, in my opinion, just a small thing in my head, if people were meant to eat meat wouldn’t it, you know, in the situation where they all were, just the rabbit there and eat it. Just like that. Without cooking or anything like that. That’s it…

[Shannon] That’s what they used to do.

[Ceitidh] But now? We can’t. We can’t.
