Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Preseantair] Air ais anns a’ mhansa ’s tha Màiri ag ullachadh airson coinneamh na carthannais a-nochd ann an Alanais.

[Màiri] Tha an t-ionad a’ dèanamh tòrr a bharrachd air dìreach a’ toirt taic dha boireannaich aig an robh casg-breith. Tha iad cuideachd a’ toirt taic dha boireannaich a tha faighinn, gam faighinn fhèin ann an suidheachadh. Fhios agad ’s mathaid gur e rud a thaobh nach eil airgead aca airson aodach cloinne a cheannach agus gu bheil iad ag iarraidh beagan taic mar sin. Bidh sinn a’ toirt taic a thaobh aodaich ’s prams ’s tòrr de rudan dhen t-seòrsa sin cuideachd. Boireannaich òga a bhios gam faighinn fhèin ann an suidheachaidhean fhios agad far nach urrainn dhaibh na rudan a tha sin a cheannach.

[Preseantair] Ach ann an taigh cho trang ri seo tha e uaireannan doirbh obair sam bith a dhèanamh.

[Màiri] Càite a bheil na …?

[Alasdair] Càite a bheil am fòn agam?

[Màiri] Chan fhac’.

[Alasdair] Am fònaig thu e? Right guys ist an-dràsta am faic am faigh mi am fòn agam.

[Màiri] Na rudan a bhios a’ tachairt anns an taigh a tha seo. Tha e a’ ringeadh. Tha e an àiteigin faisg.

[Tè] Chunnaic mi e sa chidsin.

[Màiri] An d’ fhuair thu e?

[Alasdair] Fhuair. Tha mi a’ falbh.

[Màiri] Okay, glasaidh mi …

[Alasdair] Tha mi a’ toirt a’ chàir uain’.

[Màiri] Nach toir thusa leat an càr gorm gus nach bi puncture agam?

[Alasdair] Right. Right Mhàiri tha an t-iuchar dhut ann an siud.

[Màiri] Okay.

[Alasdair] Tiors.

[Màiri] Chì mi thu.

[Preseantair] Mar chathraiche ’s e fear de na prìomh amasan aig Màiri ìomhaigh na seirbheis a thogail air feadh na sgìre.

[Màiri] ’S e rud eile a th’ ann a dhol a dh’innse dhan h-uile duine gu bheil sinn a’ dèanamh seo. Tha tòrr dhaoine ’s chan eil fhios aca air an sin. Agus tha sinn air a bhith a’ feuchainn, an-dràsta tha sinn air a bhith a’ bruidhinn ri Moray Firth Radio. Can an-dràsta airson ’s gum faic sinn an urrainn dhaibhsan sanasan a chur a-mach. Ach tha tòrr rudan eile na lùib cuideachd airson chan e comhairlichean proifeiseanta a th’ annainn ann. ’S e th’ annainn ach, tha sinn a’ dèanamh seo gu saor-thoileach.

[Preseantair] Tha Màiri a-nis air an rathad gu coinneamh comataidh Alternatives. Tha planaichean aca airson airgead a thogail le dinnear mhòr.

[Màiri] Feumaidh sinn an-còmhnaidh a bhith a’ dèanamh fundraising air choreigin airson airgead a thogail airson ’s e carthannas a th’ ann. Agus mar sin fhuair sinn an sgoil an-asgaidh agus tha a h-uile duine againn fhìn a’ dèanamh rud air choreigin. Tha sinn a’ dèanamh starters agus tha mi a’ smaoineachadh gu bheil curaidh gu bhith againn agus tha mise a’ dèanamh cheesecake agus tha boireannaich eile a’ dèanamh puddings de dhiofar sheòrsa. Rinn sinn mu trì fichead tiogaid agus ’s mathaid a-nochd gum faigh mi a-mach cia mheud dhen sin a chaidh a reic. Agus chì sinn dè mar a tha e a’ dol dhuinn, am feum sinn push bheag a thoirt dhan h-uile càil a th’ ann air an t-seachdain seo ro Dhihaoine. Am feum sinn a dhol a reic dhà no trì thiogaidean? A bheil thu ag iarraidh tiogaid a cheannach?

Charity meeting

English Beurla

[Presenter] Back in the manse and Màiri is preparing for the charity meeting tonight in Alness.

[Mairi] The unit does a lot more than just giving support to women who have had an abortion. They also give support to woman who find themselves in a situation. You know perhaps it’s a thing with them not having money to buy children’s clothes and that they want a little support like that. We give support with clothes and prams and lots of things like that too. Young women who find themselves in situations you know when they can’t buy those things.

[Alasdair] But in a house as busy as this it is sometimes difficult to do any work.

[Mairi] Where are the …?

[Alasdair] Where is my phone?

[Mairi] Didn’t see it.

[Alasdair] Will you phone it? Right guys be quiet just now until I see if I can get my phone.

[Mairi] The things that happen in this house. It’s ringing. It is somewhere close.

[Tè] I saw it in the kitchen.

[Mairi] Did you get it?

[Alasdair] Yes. I’m leaving

[Mairi] Ok, I will lock …

[Alasdair] I am taking the green car.

[Mairi] Won’t you take the blue car so that I don’t get a puncture?

[Alasdair] Right. Right Màiri the key is there for you.

[Mairi] Okay.

[Alasdair] Cheers.

[Mairi] I’ll see you.

[Alasdair] As chairperson it is one of Màiri’s main aims to raise the profile of the service throughout the area.

[Mairi] It’s another thing to go and tell everyone that we do this. There are lots of people who don’t know that. And we have been trying, just now we have been speaking to Moray Firth Radio. Say just now for us to see if they can put adverts out. But there are lots of other things involved too because we are not professional councilors at all. We are just, we do this voluntarily.

[Presenter] Mairi is now on the road to Alternatives’ committee meeting. They have plans to raise money with a big dinner.

[Mairi] We must always be doing some sort of fundraising to raise money because it’s a charity. And therefore we got the school for free and we ourselves are all doing something. We are doing starters and I think we’re going to have a curry and I’m doing cheesecake and other women are doing pudding of different types. We did about sixty tickets and perhaps tonight I’ll find out how many of those were sold. And we’ll see how we’re getting on, do we need to give everything a wee push this week before Friday. Do we need to go and sell two or three tickets? Do you want to buy a ticket?
