Pàirc nan càraichean? Pàirc nam bainne

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Agnes] Tha mi an-diugh na mo sheasamh taobh a-muigh a’ thalla ann am Borgh. Talla Clann MhicGuaire, Clan MacQuarrie Centre mar a bhios againn oirr’, a chaidh a thogail bho chionn beagan ’s deich bliadhna. Chaidh i a thogail airson clubaichean de gach seòrsa a bhith a’ coinneachadh innte agus cuideachd tha bainnsean agus gnothaichean dhen t-seòrsa sin a bhith a’ dol air adhart innte. Tha gnothaichean àbhachdais agus toileachais agus is beag a bha dùil againn gum biodh e air a chleachdadh mar a thathas an-dràsta.

[Agnes] Tha mise an-diugh a’ togail bainne, bainne uain, airson peataichean a th’ againn bhon dheireadh-sheachdain agus tha mi gu math toilicht’ gu bheil an àite ann airson gu faigh mi air am bainne thogail bho bhàn an urrais a tha a’ lìbhrigidh an seirbhis do mhuinntir an t-àite, a’ tarraing gnothaichean bho bùth nan craitearan ann an Steòrnabhagh, ga fhàgail ann an seo, ann am pàirc nan càraichean.

[Agnes] Pàirc mhòr, mhath, fharsaing far an urrainn dha càraichean a bhith fa leth agus far am b’ urrainn dhan fheadhainn a tha a’ tighinn a dh’iarraidh na gnothaichean a’ cumail air leth.

[Agnes] Ach tha sinn nis a’ falbh dhachaigh, na botail a dhèanamh, agus na h-uain bheaga leis an t-acras - tha mi an dòchas gum bi iad air an dòigh nuair a thig mise an-dràsta le na botail.

A car park? A milk park!

English Beurla

[Agnes] Today I’m standing outside the hall in Borve. Clan MacQuarrie Hall, Clan MacQuarrie Centre as we call it, which was built a little over ten years ago. It was built for all types of clubs to gather in and also weddings and things like that take place in it. There’s laughter and enjoyment and little did we know that it would be used as it is now.

[Agnes] Today I’m picking up milk, lamb’s milk, for pets that we have from the weekend and I’m very happy that this place is here so that I can pick up milk from the Trust van that delivers the service to people living here, taking things from the Crofters’ shop in Stornoway, leaving it here in the car park.

[Agnes] It’s a big, broad and good car park where cars can keep distanced from each other and where the people coming to pick to get the things can keep distanced.

[Agnes] But we’re now going home, to prepare the bottles and the wee, hungry lambs – I hope that they will be happy when I arrive now with the bottles.
