Tha Mara a’ cluich goilf aig an taigh

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Mara] Halò a-rithist, Mara an seo à Loch Carrann.

[Mara] Abair gu bheil deagh shìde againn an-diugh. Mar as trice, bhiodh an raon goilf trang air latha mar seo.

[Mara] Ach, tha i dùinte le coròna.

[Mara] Chan eil e a’ dol a chur bacadh orms’ ge-tà. An-diugh tha mi gu bhith a' feuchainn geama goilf aig an taigh.

[Mara] Tha mi dìreach a’ cleachdadh rudan a th’ againn aig an taigh, crogan pònairean agus faclairean Gàidhlig. Agus mura h-eil faclair Gàidhlig agad, uill... carson nach eil?

[Mara] Ma tha gàrradh agad, carson nach feuch sibh cùrsa a chruthachadh a-muigh?

[Mara] Air raon Loch Carrann, feumaidh tu cluich tarsainn an rathaid.

[Mara] Tha mise a’ cleachdadh an t-slighe airson seo ath-chruthachadh.

[Mara] Chan eil e idir cho furasta ’s a tha e coimhead.

[Mara] Leis gu bheil an saoghal bun os cionn, tha mi a cuir crìoch air an geama le tee off.

[Mara] Uill, chan eil mi nam phroifeiseanta fhathast ach cò aige tha fios, ’s dòcha gun dèan mi a’ chùis nuair a dh’fhosglas an raon a-rithist.

Mara is playing golf at home

English Beurla

[Mara] Hello again, Mara here from Lochcarron.

[Mara] What good weather we have today. Usually, the golf course would be busy on a day like this.

[Mara] But it’s closed because of Corona.

[Mara] It’s not going to stop me though. Today I’m going to try a game of golf at home.

[Mara] I’m just using things that we have in the house, a bean can and Gàidhlig dictionaries. And if you don’t have a Gàidhlig dictionary, well… why not?

[Mara] If you have a garden, why don’t you try to make a course outside?

[Mara] On the Lochcarron course, you have to play over the road.

[Mara] I’m using the path to recreate this.

[Mara] It’s not as easy as it looks.

[Mara] As the world has turned upside down, I’m finishing the game with a tee off.

[Mara] Well, I’m not a professional yet but who knows, maybe I will be when the course opens again.
