Na cèicean beaga Bhictoria aig Màiri
[Màiri] Tha na greimeannan beaga seo cho furasta a dhèanamh. Tha a h-ochd unnsaichean flùir self-raising agam an seo agus a h-ochd unnsaichean siùcair caster a’ dol còmhla ris, a h-ochd unnsaicheanime. Tha a h-uile sìon dìreach ga bhualadh còmhla ann am bobhla. Ceithir uighean agus drùthag bheag vanilla, can ’s dòcha leth spàin tì. Agus tha mi a’ dol a bhualadh seo uile còmhla.
[Màiri] Agus tha treidhe bheag agam ann an seo.
[Màiri] Agus a-staigh dhan àmhainn airson ’s dòcha fichead mionaid aig teas ceud agus ceithir fichead.
[Màiri] Seo a-nis airson am buttercream. Tha naoi unnsaichean icing sugar agam ann an seo, dà unnsa gu leth ime agus spàin mhòr bainne agus chan eil ach a h-uile sìon a tha sin a’ dol còmhla a-rithist. Bheir seo greiseag bheag ga bhualadh còmhla, ’s dòcha còig mionaidean ga chur timcheall.
[Màiri] ’S chì sibh tha e a’ tighinn còmhla mar-thà.
[Màiri] Ged a tha an icing a tha seo sìmplidh, tha seo trom air do làmhan. Chì sibh tha e a’ fàs gu math soilleir a-nis... airson gum biodh dath an ime air idir. Mionaid no dhà eile. Tha mise a’ smaointinn gu bheil siud cha mhòr deiseil. Seo a-nis, siud am buttercream.
[Màiri] Faodaidh sinn na cèicichean a chur ri chèile. Ga gearradh na dhà agus rud beag silidh an toiseach agus an uair sin buttercream, pìos beag sùbh-làir agus seòrsa liod air a’ chèic agus ...

Mairi’s mini Victoria sponges
[Mairi] These wee bites are so easy to make. I have eight ounces of self-raising flour here and eight ounces of caster sugar with it, eight ounces of butter. Everything is just beaten together in a bowl. Four eggs and a wee drop of vanilla, say maybe half a teaspoon. And I am going to beat this all together.
[Mairi] And I have a wee tray here.
[Mairi] And into the oven for maybe twenty minutes at a heat of one hundred and eighty.
[Mairi] Now for the buttercream. I have nine ounces of icing sugar here, two and a half ounces of butter and a tablespoon of milk and all of that just goes together again. This will take a wee while beating it together, maybe five minutes of mixing.
[Mairi] And you can see that it has come together already.
[Mairi] Although this icing is simple, it is tough on your hands. You can see that it is becoming very bright now... so it takes the colour of the butter Another minute or two. I think that that is nearly ready. Now then, that’s the buttercream.
[Mairi] We can assemble the cakes. Cut it in two and a wee bit of jam first and then buttercream, a wee piece of strawberry and a sort of lid of the cake and ...
