[Màiri] Tha mi air cnap beag pastraidh a chur ri chèile agus tha na bonnaich bheaga a tha seo sgoinneil le cupa tì. Dìreach rud beag milis, gun a bhith ro throm.

[Màiri] Tha mi a’ roiligeadh seo a-mach dìreach cho tana ’s a ghabhas dèanamh.

[Màiri] Nis dìreach spàin-tì jam.

[Màiri] Dà unnsa siùcair agam agus dà unnsa ime . ’S a’ dol a bhualadh sin còmhla.

[Màiri] Agus a’ cur ann aon ugh agus dà unnsa coconut. Uile còmhla. Agus dìreach...

[Màiri] Agus air muin an t-silidh tha mi a’ cur làn spàin-tì dhen seo.

[Màiri] Seo a-nis. Agus dhan àmhainn airson fichead mionaid aig teas ceud agus trì fichead.

[Màiri] Gu math toilichte le seo. Tha coltas snog orra. Cho furasta agus cho luath a dhèanamh agus ma tha dìth-ùine oirbh, ceannaichibh am pastraidh anns a’ bhùth agus tha e ga dhèanamh nas fhasa buileach.

Mairi’s raspberry and coconut tarts

English Beurla

[Mairi] I have put a wee bit of pastry together and these little cakes are great with a cup of tea. Just a little bit sweet, without being too heavy.

[Mairi] I’m rolling this out as thinly as possible.

[Mairi] Now just a teaspoon of jam.

[Mairi] I have two ounces of sugar and two ounces of butter. And going to beat that together.

[Mairi] And adding one egg and two ounces of coconut. All together. And just ...

[Mairi] And on top of the jam I’m putting a full teaspoon of this.

[Mairi] There now. And into the oven for twenty minutes at a heat of one hundred and sixty.

[Mairi] I’m very happy with this. They look nice. So easy and so fast to make and if you’re short of time, buy the pastry from the shop and it makes it even easier.
