Iomairt ùir gus stèisean connaidh coimhearsnachd a stèidheachadh

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Karen Elder – Neach-aithris] Nise, tha adhartas ga dhèanamh le planaichean gus stèisean connaidh coimhearsnachd a stèidheachadh ann an Crosabul ann an Tiriodh. Tha na pumpaichean connaidh a tha an-dràsta aig a' chidhe feumach air ùrachadh, agus tha an fheadhainn leis a bheil iad airson a' phàirt sin dhen chompanaidh a leigeil seachad. Tha Urras Thiriodh an dòchas stèisean connaidh ùr a chur air pìos talmhainn ri taobh Bùth a' Bhaile is ma thèid gnothaichean mar bu chòir, bidh e fosgailte as t-Earrach an ath-bhliadhna. Mar a tha Seonaidh MacCoinnich a-nis ag aithris.

[Seonaidh MacCoinnich – Neach-naidheachd] Chan eil ach aon àite airson peatrail is dìosal a cheannach ann an Tiriodh. ’S e sin ann an cidhe ann an Bàgh an Got ach tha companaidh aig a bheil na pumpaichean connadh a’ dol a stad peatrail is dìosal a reic. So tha Urras Thìoradh airson stèisean connaidh coimhearsnachd a dhèanamh dhaibh fhèin.

[Iain Mac a’ Ghobhainn] Is tha sinn a’ sealltainn dòigh seo a chur ceart air an eilean, cha bhi connadh sam bith air an eilean mus dèan sinn rud, so tha sinn a’ sealltainn mar a dhèan sinn sin, agus aidh, cuideachd tha an stuth a th’ aca-san, tha e a’ fàs gu math sean a-nis. Agus chan eil e ceart airson an latha an-diugh, so tha sinn a’ sealltainn stuth ùr a chur air dòigh.

[Seonaidh MacCoinnich – Neach-naidheachd] Tha làrach aig an Urrais ann an Crosabul ri taobh Bùth a' Bhaile agus Oifisean nan Urrais.

[Seonaidh MacCoinnich – Neach-naidheachd] Ach tha trioblaid ann leis an làrach, chan eil an fhearann freagarrach airson nan tancaichean connaidh a chur fon talamh.

[Seonaidh MacCoinnich – Neach-naidheachd] Ach tha freagairt aca agus cuideachd do dhaoine airson connadh fhaighinn air uair sam bith tron latha.

[Andy Wright] Tha plan would be to have self-service pay-at-the-pump, so it will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and it would be a sort of modular, overground tank system, so should be reasonably easy and quick to install.

[Iain Mac a’ Ghobhainn] Tha sinn a’ sealltainn dòighean diofraichte ga dhèanamh agus tha mi a’ smaointinn an rud as cudromaiche gun dèan sinn, gu bheil caran business model ceart airson an eilein fhèin agus tha e ag obrachadh airson daoine a tha air an eilean, daoine a tha tighinn dhan eilean, agus nach bi e ro dhaor airson connadh a ghleidheadh agus le sin tha sinn a’ sealltainn a h-uile dòigh seo a dhèanamh.

[Seonaidh MacCoinnich – Neach-naidheachd] Tha gnothaichean aig ìre mhath ach ’s e an dòchas a th’ ann gum bi e fosgailte aig an àm seo an ath-bhliadhna.

[Andy Wright] At the moment, we’ve done our sort of feasibility study and we re sort of at the fundraising stage now, we’re at kind of advanced talks with Highlands and Islands Enterprise and we re due to submit a lottery application in March so hopefully by June, July, we ll know whether we’ve got the funding package in place to continue .

A new campaign to establish a community petrol station

English Beurla

[Karen Elder – Anchor] Now, progress has been made with plans to establish a community fuel station in Crossapul in Tiree. The fuel pumps which are presently at the quay need upgrading and the people who own them want to offload that part of the company. The Tiree Trust hope to put a new fuel station on a piece of land beside the Town Shop and if business goes as it should, it will be open in the spring next year. As Seoniadh MacKenzie now reports.

[Seonaidh MacKenzie – Journalist] There is only one place to buy petrol and diesel in Tiree. That’s on the quay at Gott’s Bay but the company who have the fuel pumps are going to stop selling petrol and diesel. So The Tiree Trust wants to make a community station for themselves.

[Iain Smith] We are showing a way to put this right on the island, there won’t be any fuel on the island if we don’t do anything, so we are showing how we will do that and aye, also their stuff is growing old now. And it is not right for the day today, so we are showing a new way ahead.

[Seonaidh MacKenzie – Journalist] The Trust have a site in Crossapul beside the Town Shop and the Trust Offices.

[Seonaidh MacKenzie – Journalist] But there is a problem, the land isn’t suitable for the fuel tanks to go underground.

[Seonaidh MacKenzie – Journalist] But they do have a solution and for people to get fuel any time through the day.

[Andy Wright] Tha plan would be to have self-service pay-at-the-pump, so it will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and it would be a sort of modular, overground tank system, so should be reasonably easy and quick to install.

[Iain Smith] We are showing different ways to do this and I think the most important thing is that we do that, that we have a correct business model for the island itself and it works for people who are on the island, people who are coming to the island and it won’t be too expensive to save fuel and with that we are showing every way to do this.

[Seonaidh MacKenzie – Journalist] Matters are at a good level but the hope is that it will be open at this time next year.
